Irv, you are definitely telling it like it is, as clear as day. But what do we do when people are so willing to believe absolutely insane things that are so obviously untrue? I wouldn't be surprised if the Flat Earth Society was getting new members too.

"There are people who take charge and help during times of crisis. There are people who will lash out and deal out blame like it was a poker game. Then there are people who will help, and maybe even be good at it. . . " Mur Lafferty "Station Eternity", p. 444. The media around us magnify the too many of us who are dealing poker blame, but there are helpers out here who tend to be women who will quietly do good. More power to them, to us.

Definitely well-written, but you are missing the crux of the issue. If voters vote for the Republicans, isn't that Democracy, even though we may disagree with the outcome? I may find certain elected Congresspeople repugnant, but it is not a vote against democracy that they are winning, but democracy itself. Our failure is in a system that money controls the elections and we are not getting the right people in office. MGT wins in her district. She gets the votes. Trump won in 2016. JB is Governor because of his use of his money to bully Illinois voters. JB beat a very qualified and intelligent Daniel Biss in the 2018 primary because of the money he spent. JB (unethically IMO) eliminated Richard Irvin from running against him by using his money and acting as a bully in the 2022 Republican primary. It is obvious I cannot vote for Darren Bailey. But I would have considered voting for Mayor Irvin.

If Dr. Oz wins a Senate seat tomorrow, that is Democracy. Dr. Oz was created by the paragon of woke liberalism, Oprah. What does that say about our Democracy? Maybe Oprah shouldn't be the one to create our superstars?
